Pastor

Jasper McNutt

Founding pastor. In 2004 he was called by God to establish, organise and pastor his own church, and Temple Christian Fellowship has been that church ever since.

Born in St. Louis in 1952 and educated in the St. Louis public schools, he studied accounting and business at the University of Missouri–St. Louis and Harris-Stowe. He served nine years’ active duty in the United States Army, leaving as a Staff Sergeant, then spent more than twenty-five years at Laclede Gas — beginning in the service department and retiring in 2010 as assistant superintendent.

He accepted his assignment to ministry in 1985 under Pastor B. L. Gregory-Jones, and was ordained an Elder on 5 June 1990 under Pastor Tommie Ringo. He served as Assistant Pastor of New Mount Gideon West Full Gospel Baptist Church, where he organised the Young Adult and Security ministries, and as State Director of Evangelism in St. Louis for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship under Bishop George White.

Jeanette McNutt

Trustee, and a preacher of the Word whenever the opportunity arises. In February 2004 she helped assemble the startup and administrative package that brought this church into being.

She has been active in church since she was a preteen — the junior choir, the junior ushers, Sunday School conventions and oratorical contests. As an adult she helped begin the Primary and Intermediate Sunday School classes, established a Health Unit, and started the Back-to-School Rally and Health Fair.

Born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, she graduated from Soldan High School in St. Louis and from the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing, and practised nursing for forty-one years, twelve of them in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. Returning to St. Louis, she became a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army Reserve and retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. She holds a degree in psychology from Webster University, a master’s from Washington University, and a bachelor’s degree in theology earned in 2011.

She has been married to Pastor McNutt for forty-three years. She has one daughter and three grandchildren.
